General notes:
- UN-TGZ the source archive
- If you want to include patch files under DOS/WinNT, use gnu patch util
- Have a look at config.h to switch on/off some features (default is
an optimate selection, but perhaps you want to use/not use some other
features).
- Read file "changes.txt" carefully, what has been changed
- After first start of a new version check init.bcm for changed features

Hints for linux user:
- you need GCC/GPP v2.9x, NOT the new GCC/GPP v3.1/3.2!
- look at makefile for some compiling options (dynamic or static).
- do a 'make' under linux to compile
- if you get some errors (warnings can be ignored) make sure
that you have installed all compiler components
- to compile without L2 use:
make -f makefile.nol2

Hints for WinNT user:
- you need Microsoft Visual C++ 5.0 or later for compiling

Hints for DOS user:
- you need Borland C++ DOS compiler, bcm.prj project file is included
